BODYWORKPT PILATES CLASSES

BodyworkPT Pilates classes are mat based workouts for mixed abilities, so whether you are a beginner or at a progressive stage with your Pilates you are most welcome! Different versions of the exercises will be demonstrated or prescribed to individuals with particular needs. Some individuals however, may find the ‘Back to Basics’ class more appropriate. Particularly if back problems or other health considerations are present (Please see individual class descriptions).

The classes have a limited number of participants, this ensures a good level of attention for each person and the opportunity for corrections to be made to maximise your Pilates experience.

Because of the limited spaces you will need to book and pre-payment made.

You will need to fill out a health questionnaire before commencing Pilates classes with Bodyworkpt, so when arriving for your first class please allow extra time for this. A copy of the questionnaire is available for you to download by clicking the button below:

Pure Pilates

The bodyworkpt Pure Pilates classes are 55 minutes of classical mat based workouts that focus on developing core strength, flexibility and all round toning of the body. The exercises are inspired by the original Pilates method, broken down into individual sets that allow the participant to fully engage and understand the movements and master the techniques. A mindful approach to the exercises is advised to get the most from the session. A backdrop of calming ambient music helps the participant to focus on their body and the movements being performed. The class is inclusive for all levels, with demonstrations of different levels of the exercises to choose from, however those with particular physical concerns may find this class challenging.

Back2Basics

The bodyworkpt Back2Basics class is 45 minutes. The shorter practice time is more appropriate for participants who are new to Pilates or those who have particular health concerns, including back issues or other structural considerations, post natal, injury rehab, fatigue, anxiety, depression and many other concerns. The class is great for those wanting to take their Pilates back to the core basics for a recap or if they’ve not yet connected with some of the techniques. This class is also highly beneficial to participants who need to engage in some form of exercise but who find other sessions too strenuous or contraindicatory to their condition. The class incorporates many classical Pilates exercises that can be easily modified for individual needs and other gentle stretching and toning movements. There is a greater emphasis on learning the breathing and core engagement techniques and provides a more easy going atmosphere that allows the participants more time to fully understand the exercises and more opportunity to discuss their Pilates experience.

Fusion Flow

The bodyworkpt Fusion Flow Pilates is a 45 minute class of intense ‘Flow’ movement. Incorporating intermediate to advanced Pilates exercises, fused with power Pilates, leg and booty toning, light resistance apparatus and body weight exercises. Performed as a traditional mat based Pilates class, with bare feet.

PRIVATE 1-2-1 PILATES SESSIONS

If you feel you would benefit from a more personalised Pilates regime then private sessions are available.
These are a very good idea if you have special medical conditions or certain physical issues that would not suit your joining a class.
You can work at your own pace and have 100% attention, ensuring you get every move right and therefore the most benefit from each exercise.

If you are able to join one of the classes it is still a great idea to have a one off private Pilates session before joining, especially if you have never done Pilates before, that way you have an understanding of the basic principles of Pilates in order to get the most out of your classes once you join one and less likely to feel overwhelmed or confused during the sessions.

Private sessions may also suit you better if your schedule does not fit in with class times. Great for busy executives or mums who need their time maximised.

Small group Pilates sessions (up to 4) are also available if you have a few like minded friends and enough space to do it.

Private sessions are held at your home or an arranged venue.

EQUIPMENT.

It is useful and most hygienic to bring your own Pilates mat, but mats are also provided. A small towel, a drink of water and comfortable clothing ‘that is not bulky’ is also recommended. Please also make sure your clothing has enough stretch, particularly in trousers and shorts. Layers are best as your temperature may fluctuate. Pilates is usually done with bare feet but some socks have tacky soles which can be used or specific Pilates socks. All other equipment used, such as blocks, straps, bands etc are provided for your use in the class.

FREE TASTER SESSIONS:

Look out for Bodyworkpt ‘POP UP PILATES’ sessions in and around Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, hosted in interesting and unusual settings and venues.

These one off events are a chance for you to try Pilates with no commitment or cost. The sessions are put on randomly and often with little notice, so look out for them appearing on this website and on the Bodyworkpt social media feeds such as Facebook and Instagram.. It’s a great way to get an idea of what Pilates is all about, especially if you’ve never tried it before, in an environment that is relaxed, non intimidating and usually with other first timers. You will still need to get in touch to book a place for these sessions as places are limited.
